How it's counted
On any day, look back at that day and the 179 days before it. At most 90 of them can be in the Schengen area.
The day you arrive and the day you leave are both Schengen days, even if you were there for an hour.
As your window moves, old trips drop out of it. Limitra finds your latest exit date with that in mind.
Your home country isn't counted. Ireland and Cyprus are not in Schengen, so their days are counted separately.
What Limitra does
Your Schengen balance for today, with a ledger of 180 dots — one for every day of your window.
The last day you can stay if you don't leave, counting the old days that roll off your window.
Try dates for a future trip. If it's too long, Limitra shows how long you can stay and when to leave.
Days in every country for your tax year — from 6 April for the UK, or the calendar year — with a warning before 183.
A reminder 3, 7 or 14 days before your last legal day, and your days left on the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
Every trip of the last 180 days on one big screen for passport control. PDF and CSV reports and iCloud backup.
Forever, with no account.
Yearly with a free week, monthly, or once for life.
Your trips are saved on your iPhone and, if you turn on backup, in your own iCloud. We never send countries or dates to our analytics, and Limitra never asks for your location.
Questions
If you don't need a visa for short stays, you can spend up to 90 days in the Schengen area in any 180-day period. On any given day, look back at that day and the 179 days before it: no more than 90 of them can be in Schengen. The day you arrive and the day you leave both count.
The 29 Schengen countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Ireland and Cyprus are in the EU but not in Schengen, so Limitra counts them separately.
Yes. Limitra is made for people who can visit Schengen without a visa for short stays — for example UK citizens since Brexit, and travellers from the US, Canada and Australia. If you live in a Schengen country, choose it as your home country: days there are not counted towards your 90.
Many countries look at whether you spent 183 days or more there in a tax year. Limitra counts your days in every country for your tax year — from 6 April for the UK, or the calendar year — and can warn you before you reach 183. It is a counter, not a tax ruling: residence rules differ by country and often include other tests.
No. There is no account and no sign-up. Your trips are saved on your iPhone, and with Limitra Pro you can back them up to your own iCloud.
No. Limitra never asks for your location. You add trips yourself, and where you've been is never sent to us or to our analytics. Read the Privacy Policy.
