Privacy Policy
Limitra has no accounts and no ads, and never asks for your location. Your trips stay on your iPhone and, if you turn on backup, in your own iCloud. Where you've been — countries and dates — is never sent to us or to our analytics. We collect only anonymous data that helps the app work and get better, and we never sell it.
This policy explains what the Limitra app for iPhone ("Limitra", "the app") does with data. Limitra is made by Narek Sumbatyan, an independent developer ("we", "us"). Questions: limitra.support@gmail.com.
1. What stays on your iPhone
Everything you enter in Limitra is saved on your iPhone, never on our servers:
- your trips: country, entry date, exit date (or "still there") and an optional note;
- your home country and when your tax year starts;
- your settings, such as reminders and the 183-day warning.
We can't see this data. The Home Screen widget reads a small summary (days left, your latest exit date) that the app keeps in a shared folder on the same iPhone. PDF and CSV reports are created on your iPhone and go only where you choose to send or save them. Your iPhone's own backup (iCloud or computer), handled by Apple and you, may also include this data. If you delete the app, its data on your iPhone is deleted too.
2. iCloud backup (Limitra Pro)
If you turn on iCloud backup in Settings, Limitra saves a copy of your trips, your home country and your tax year start in Limitra's private folder in your own iCloud account. It is stored by Apple under your Apple ID and Apple's Privacy Policy; we have no access to it. You can turn backup off at any time in Settings. To delete the copy, go to iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage (or Storage) → Limitra.
3. Reminders
Reminders before your Schengen limit or the 183-day mark are local notifications: the app schedules them on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to a server to deliver them. You can turn them off in the app or in iPhone Settings → Notifications.
4. Purchases
Limitra Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your name, Apple ID or card details. To know whether Pro is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous ID created for the app, your Limitra purchases and subscription status from Apple, and basic device information (such as iOS version, app version and App Store country). It doesn't receive your trips.
5. Anonymous usage statistics
To learn which parts of Limitra are used and where people get stuck, the app sends anonymous events to Mixpanel, stored in the European Union. Events only say what happened, with kinds, counts and yes/no answers — for example: a trip was saved (Schengen or not, current or future, how many trips you have), the planner was checked (fits or not), a setting was changed, a report was exported, a purchase was started, completed or cancelled. When the purchase screen opens, the event also includes your App Store country and currency, as shown by the store. Mixpanel adds device model, iOS version, app version, screen size and network type.
Events never include which countries you visited or when, your home country, your notes, your Apple ID or an advertising ID. Limitra also tells Mixpanel not to estimate a location from your IP address. Events are tied only to a random ID created by the app.
6. Crash reports
If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a report to Sentry (stored in the European Union) so we can fix it: what went wrong and where in the code, device model, iOS version, app version, and the device's language and time zone settings. Reports don't include your trips, personal data or screenshots, and Sentry is set not to store IP addresses.
7. When you write to us
If you email limitra.support@gmail.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to answer you, and you can ask us to delete your messages.
8. What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent data.
- We don't show ads and don't use advertising IDs.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't ask for your location, name, email, phone number, contacts or photos.
This website has no cookies and no analytics.
9. How long data is kept
Data on your iPhone and in your iCloud stays until you delete it. Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports are kept only as long as they are useful for improving Limitra (crash reports usually about 90 days). Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat while the app's subscription service runs.
10. Your choices and rights
- Delete trips one by one, or all at once in Settings → Delete all trips. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPhone.
- Turn iCloud backup off in Settings, and delete the copy as described in section 2.
- Cancel Limitra Pro in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Depending on where you live (for example, the UK, the EU or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its use. Because Limitra's data is anonymous, we usually can't link it to you, but write to us and we will do what we can. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
11. Children
Limitra is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
